Finger Thingies

Okay so y'all know how touch thingies work on your iPhone/iPad, right? Well, OnSong also does the Mac thing, so basically all those finger-wigglin' moves just become mouse clicks & trackpad shenanigans instead. Tap = click. Double-tap = double-click. U get it. Let's talk about how to poke & prod those lil' annotation doohickeys around.

Pick Me!

Tap or click that annotation & BAM—it's front & center. This lets you actually move the dang thing with one finger on iOS/iPadOS, & it opens up inline editin' on text annotations when you tap/click a selected one. Revolutionary, we know.

Shove It Around

Gotta put that annotation where it actually looks good? Yeah, I know, rocket science. Tap & drag (iOS/iPadOS) or click & drag (macOS) to yeet it around the sheet. Wanna get fancy? Use two fingers on the screen (iOS/iPadOS) or trackpad (macOS) to spin it, squish it, or stretch it. (Or just use the formattin' menu like a normal person, but where's the fun in that?)

Make It Say Somethin' Different

Every annotation type has its own special snowflake editor. Double-tap (iOS/iPadOS) or double-click (macOS) to unlock it. Or just grab the context menu thingy we're about to talk about—that works too.

Do Other Stuff

Wanna pin an annotation so it stops bouncin' around like it's possessed? Tap & hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) to summon the context menu of infinite possibilities.

When You Assign Actions (aka The Chaos Section)

Here's the thing: only the gesture you tell to do stuff actually does stuff. Everything else keeps vibin' normally. So if your annotation's got a tap action, it'll still pop open the context menu when you tap & hold/right-click, & it'll still open the editor when you double-tap or double-click. Wanna force the editor open? Double-tap with two fingers or triple-tap. We ain't stoppin' ya.
