Nerd Stuff Mode 🤓

This screen lets you configure the types of metadata content to display. By default, the OnSong^® app shows the artist under the title of the song. You can add additional metadata and choose the order in which it appears. This list includes:

Built-In Metadata (AKA The Stuff We Put In There So You Don't Have To)

The following tags are metadata natively supported by the OnSong^® app and are always listed.

• Album is the album on which the song appears. (You know, for when you wanna remember where you stole this bop from.)
• Artist is the commonly known performer of the song. (The peep who actually made it famous, obvs.)
• Author is the person who wrote the song. (The real hero nobody talks about.)
• Composer is the person who composed the music of the song. (Mozart called. He wants his royalties.)
• Duration is the length of the song. (How long you gotta suffer. Or jam. Whatever.)
• Lyricist is the person who wrote the lyrics of the song. (Not the artist. Shocking, I know.)
• MIDI are the commands to be sent when the song is viewed. (Nerd stuff. You probably don't need this. But hey, it's here if you're feelin' spicy.)
• Number is the number assigned to the song for lookup purposes. (So your setlist doesn't turn into total chaos.)
• Tuning is the instrument tuning used for the song. (For when you wanna play it right instead of, y'know, wrong.)

Custom Metadata (Roll Your Own Flavor)

If you create your own custom metadata tags, these will also appear in this list. For instance, you could specify genre or year to have OnSong organize based on those values. You can optionally show those on your songs in this screen. (Basically: make up whatever weird categories you want & OnSong will pretend to care.)

Displayed (The Stuff You Actually See, Congrats)

These items appear on your song in the order listed. Drag an item to change its order. To stop showing an item, swipe it or tap the delete control and then tap Remove. (It's like Marie Kondo, but for metadata. Does it spark joy? DELETE IT.)

Available (The Bench Warmers)

These items are not shown on your song. Tap the + next to an item to add it to the displayed list. (Promote 'em from the sidelines. Make 'em famous. Or don't. We're not your mom.)
