The Thingy You're Readin' Right Now

ZOMG. Chart Stuff. You're Gonna Love This (Jk).

These settings define how text-based charts are laid out on the virtual page. Riveting, we know.

Tint (aka "Make It Pretty")

The tint is used as a translucent overlay to otherwise black & white text. This can be used to tint colors for those with visual stress disorders to improve reading or to reduce eye strain. Translation: we're gonna slap some color on your boring lyrics so your eyeballs don't explode.

Dark Color (aka "The Moody Bits")

This color will be blended with any black "ink" on the page to colorize it. Default is transparent. Spoiler alert: transparent means "we did nothing."

Light Color (aka "The Bright Stuff")

This color will be blended with any white color on the page to colorize it. Default is transparent. Same transparent vibes as above, tbh.

Low Light Mode (aka "Squinty Time")

Determines if low light mode is enabled on the document. Default is off. Perfect for when you're performin' in a cave & your retinas are cryin'.

Font (aka "Fancy Letters Go Brrrr")

This is the default font to use for new charts. Pick one. We're not gonna judge. (We're totally gonna judge.)

Font Family (aka "Serif? I Barely Knew Her")

You can select between common font styles including: Serif, Sans-Serif, Monospaced & Handwritten which on most devices translates to Georgia, Helvetica (Default), Courier, & Marker Felt. Choose wisely. Or don't. We can't stop you.

Line Spacing (aka "Gimme Breathing Room")

This allows you to adjust the distance between lines of text. The range that can be selected is 0.7 to 1.3. Default is 1.0. Tighter than your jeans or looser than your schedule? Your call, bestie.

Layout (aka "How to Arrange Your Chaos")

This section determines how text is arranged on the page. Options include:

Pagination (aka "One Page or a Million?")

This determines if text-based documents should be broken into the physical paper size or expand to be on a single, scrollable page. Options include: Single Page (default) & Multiple Pages. Spoiler: scrolling is way more fun than printing.

Columns (aka "Side-by-Side Action")

This setting allows you to determine the default number of columns. Choose between 1 (Default) & 2 columns. More columns = more confusion. Facts only.

Gutter (aka "The Lonely Space Between")

This is the width of the whitespace to place between columns when there is more than one. Default is 1/2" & options include measurements from None to 1" in 1/8" increments. It's the friendship bracelet of typography.

Paper (aka "Your Digital Napkin")

This section defines the default sheet of virtual paper used to determine the size of elements as well as printing. Options include:

Paper Size (aka "How Big Is Your Dream?")

This lets you choose the size of the paper to draw the chart. Options include:

  • Letter - 8.5" x 11" (Default) — The Goldilocks of paper sizes.
  • Folio - 8.5" x 13" — A little extra, just like us.
  • Legal - 8.5" x 14" — For when you're gettin' serious. Or litigious.
  • Tabloid - 11" x 17" — ZOMG it's HUGE.
  • A5 - 148mm x 210mm — Tiny but mighty. Like your attention span.
  • A4 - 210mm x 297mm — The rest of the world's default. Awkward.
  • A3 - 297mm x 420mm — Pretty darn big. We see you, overachiever.
  • A2 - 420mm x 594mm — Blaze it. (jk, it's just a big paper size.)

Paper Orientation (aka "Portrait or Landscape Mood?")

This is the orientation of the paper used to render the song. Options include: Portrait (Default) or Landscape. Pick the vibe that matches your energy, king/queen.

Margins (aka "Personal Space Matters")

This lets you choose the default margins for the paper. This is between 0" & 1-1/2" in 1/8" or 1/4" increments. Default is 3/4". We're not gonna judge if you go full angry margins (0"), but we will know.

This sections dictates how the footer of the song appears by default. Because apparently you need more stuff on your page.

This slider allows you to determine the relative font size of the footer compared to the lyric size of the chart. This can be between 0-100%. Default is 75%. Basically, you're shrinking your footnotes. Revolutionary.

This switch determines if the footer is outputted. Off = no footer. On = footer time, baby. Choose your own adventure.

Include Page Numbers (aka "1, 2, 3... Riveting.")

This determines if page numbers are outputted in the footer. Because sometimes you need to know you're on page 47 of your sick ballad.

Text (aka "Say Whatever")

This allow you to add additional text to the footer. Go wild. Add your tour date. Add your ex's number. We don't judge. (OK, we do a little.)
