Google Cast

Google Cast be lettin' ye send OnSong t' a Chromecast, Google TV, or other Cast receiver on yer Wi-Fi network so yer lyrics appear on th' big screen, complete with motion backgrounds and live video. Arrr, it be a fine way t' put words in front o' yer audience without wirin' up a projector, savvy? Here be how it works, matey:

Permissions

Open th' External Video screen and tap th' Google Cast button in th' toolbar. Th' first time ye cast, OnSong asks fer two permissions it needs t' find receivers on yer network:

• Location lets th' app and th' Google Cast device know which Wi-Fi network ye be on.
• Local Network allows th' system t' discover Cast devices around ye.

Tap Continue and allow both, and OnSong starts lookin' fer devices. Ye'll only be asked once; tap Not Now t' skip fer th' moment, savvy?

Th' Google Cast button appears on iPhone and iPad. It ain't available in th' Mac app.

Choose a Device

Th' Google Cast screen lists every receiver OnSong finds on yer network, each with its name and model. Tap one t' connect and yer lyrics appear on that display a moment later. Th' button in th' toolbar becomes a red Stop button and th' button in th' External Video toolbar lights up t' show ye be castin'.

• While OnSong be still lookin', ye'll see Searchin'… with a spinner. If nothin' turns up, it shows No devices found along with tips fer checkin' yer Wi-Fi — tap Scan t' look again, matey.
• Only one receiver plays at a time. Tappin' a different device switches t' it; tappin' th' connected device, or th' red Stop button, ends th' session.

If yer device don't appear, make sure it be on th' same Wi-Fi network as yer OnSong device and that ye allowed th' Location and Local Network permissions above, ye scallywag.

Cast t' a Web Browser

Under Other, tap Web Browser t' cast t' a computer instead o' a dedicated receiver. OnSong shares a web address which ye can open in a browser on a laptop that be connected t' a projector or TV. Th' browser becomes yer display. Tappin' in th' middle o' th' browser screen goes into full screen mode, Arrr!

As noted at th' bottom o' th' screen: Motion backgrounds and live video may appear with a slight delay, especially on slower or busier networks, savvy?
